Day 1: Voeun Kham – Donkralor border, Steung Treng - Kratie (B/L/D) Warmly welcome at Dong Kralor border. After completion of immigration and entering Cambodia. Continuation by road, 4 hours, to get to Stung Treng and Kratie road.Stop Sambo and boat ride on the river to observe dolphins. Kratie, a small colonial city, located on a hill at the foot of the Mekong, and presents superb traditional Khmer houses. Dinner and overnight at the hotel at Chlong relay, 25km, charming hotel whose leadership is French.
Day 2: Kratie - Kompong Cham - Kampong Thom (B/L/D) Have city tour in this provincial town before taking the road to Kompong Thom.
Visit the pagoda Vihear Kork dating from the nineteenth century, and Phom Sambok temple and its Buddhist monastery. Departure by road to Kompong Cham on 216km, one of the most populated provinces of Cambodia. Before arriving at the centre, visiting Phnom Proh hills and Phnom Srey hill, Wat Nokhor Bachey temple (12th century), continuation to the center with its beautiful colonial market - Lunch in town - then the road to Kompong Thom about 152 km, stopping the temple Kuha Nokor and workshops on stone sculpture, arrived in late afternoon. Day 3: Kompong Thom – Siem Reap (B/L/D) Depart through villages to pre-Angkorian temples of Sambo Prei Kuh, the ancient capital of Angkor before. Continuation of road to SIEM REAP around 147 Km through villages, lowland rice, stop at Kompong Kdei to visit an ancient archaeological bridge at the Angkorian period. Transfer to the hotel for check in. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Siem Reap - Angkor (B/L/D) In the morning start discovering the Angkor temples in the small circuit : Thommanun with some very nice walled-doors and stylized devata, Chau Say Tevoda, Takeo one of the first to be build out of sandstone, Ta Prohm was a monastery built by Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother, It has been largely overgrown by the jungle and as you climb through the dilapidated stone structures you see many giant baniyan growing out of the top of the temple itself, Banteay kdei, this temple was constructed by Jayavarman VII during the 12th and 13th Centuries ( Citadel of the Cells) used to be a religious monastery, Prasat Kravan with a unique bas-reliefs of bricks and Sras Srang used for ceremonies and royal baths
In the afternoon continues to visit Pre Rup temple – this temple was built in the 10th Century by Rajendravarman. Its proportions are perfect, a truly beautiful piece of work, Eastern Mebon used to be in the middle of the waters of the large Oriental Baray that is presently filled with rice-fields, Neak Poan was supposed to be a symbol of the Universe, and Preah Khan built in 1191 according to the tradition on a spot where the king fought a crucial battle against the Cham. Day 5: Angkor (B/L/D) After breakfast start visiting the South Gate, Angkor Thom, This Royal city was first built under the reign of Udayadityavarman II in the 11th Century. The famous Bayon Temple – this temple mountain built by Jayavarman VII is situated in the centre of the city of Angkor Thom, Baphuon - This temple built by Udayadityarvarman II was the most poorly constructed of all the temples in Angkor. Phimean Akas – this temple constructed late 10th – early 11th century by Jayavarman V. Elephants and Leper King Terraces.
Afternoon, visit one of 7 wonders of the world "Angkor Wat" early – mid 12th by King Soryavarman II. The temple is one of the largest monuments to religion ever built and is truly one the wonders of the world and then watching sunset view from the top of Bakheng Hill. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Kbal Spean – Banteay Srey (B/L/D) Full day excursion to Kbal Spean (River of thousand Lingas) around 55 km, north of Angkor. At the eleventh century, hermits have carved the sandstone bed of the river that fed Angkor. You join the site after 45 minutes walking through the forest. The first plan, Lingas (phallic symbols) here in the form of cobblestones which gave its name to the site: "River of thousand Lingas," then on the rocks, figures of gods: Vishnu sleeping on a serpent, the bull Nandin, Shiva and Urma. In flowing on these mythological scenes, water was sanctified ... Then you get off and lunch at a local restaurant. Then you continue the visit to Banteay Srei (Citadel Women), devoted to Civa whose architecture and sculptures of pink sandstone present a masterpiece of Khmer art. On the way back visit Sras Srang (Basin Ablutions) Banteay Kdei, Buddhist temple decorated with Garuda. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 7: Siem Reap – Battambang (B/L/D) Transfer to the pier, then take a private traditional wooden boat in the village of Chong Khneas, you can explore floating schools, pagodas and still floating village where you are taught the traditional techniques of fishing, breeding, rearing crocodiles - continuation of the cruise across the lake about 2 hours, then arrive at Prek Toal, the mouth of the river with Lake Tonle Sap, you are doing a first superb cruise on the river Sangkè approximately 6 hours, the river is bordered houses on stilts, bamboo and other plants, you will reach the floating village of fishermen Bak Prea, then the pagoda Chheu Khmao (black wooden pagoda). Day 8: Battambang (B/L/D) Discover the city of Battambang, a charming big city where you can watch the elegant houses in the French colonial style along the river. You then visit the Provincial Museum and the pagoda before heading to the 11th century temple of Wat Ek Phnom. You pass through traditional villages along the route where you can attend the manufacture of family rice cakes and contacting people about their daily lives. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, Then, an hour's ride to the hill of Phnom Bannon (337 steps) and its temple, Prasat Bannon, XIIth century, which stands atop mountain that you reach by a long staircase. Day 9: Battambang - Phnom Penh (B/L/D) Route towards HNP on 291Km through villages and countryside. Several visits are planned along the way, first of all the provincial town of Pursat workshops with its marble carving objects of art and famous Buddhas in the country, then continue trip to the city of Kompong Chhnang with its river port, floating houses and the village that people make pots, vases and other ceramic items - Lunch at the local restaurant - Continue to Phnom Oudong, one of the ancient capitals of Cambodia after Angkor.
The hill is topped by enormous stupas of former kings and a new magnificent stupa used to house the centre of the Buddha. From the top, you admire the scenic landscapes of villages, pagodas, plains, lakes. After the descent route to the village of goldsmiths along the Tonle Sap, silver manufacturing souvenir centre, you arrive at Phnom Penh at late afternoon. Installation at the hotel. Day 10: Phnom Penh (B/L/D) After breakfast we have a sightseeing tour of the charming city with the attractions: Independence Monument - it commemorates the end of Cambodia’s ruled by France in 1953 and was built in 1954, National Museum – was constructed in 1917, this museum shows the fascinating of Cambodia art archeology; Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda Palace – so called because of the 5,329 silver tiles that cover the floor - was built in 1892. Visit Wat Phnom - a small hill crowned by an active Wat (pagoda) marks the legendary founding place of the Phnom Penh and visit Central Market – this unique art deco building is a Phnom Penh landmark constructed 1935-1937. Day 11: Phnom Penh - Departure (B/L/D) Breakfast at hotel & free at leisure and after that transfer to the airport for flight departure End of services. |
