Day 1: Tinh Bien, Phnom Den border – Takeo – Phnom Penh (B/L/D) Warmly welcome at border Tinh Bien / Cambodia Phnom Den. Lunch en route or in the form of picnic or in a local restaurant. Continuation of the road through villages toward Phnom Penh. Stop en route to visit Chisor temple, another stop for the ascent (412 steps) to the hill of Phnom Chisor, Hindu shrine of the 11th century.The site in the state offers an authentic atmosphere and a panorama on the plain, the lake and rice fields that surround it and then continue to visit the Prasat Neang Khmao temple,

Day 2: Phnom Penh (B/L/D) Discover the city of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, located at the confluence of four arms of the Mekong River, visit the Monument of Independence commemorated the end of French protectorate in Cambodia in 1953 and also delivered a tribute to fighters soul who paid with their lives for freedom in the country, National Museum, a temple of Khmer art, was constructed in 1917 - this museum shows the fascinating of Cambodia art archeology housing mainly sculptures dating from different periods in the history of Cambodia - the Royal Palace built in 1866 by King Norodom made up of various structures grouped in a forum and Silver Pagoda Palace – so called because of the 5,329 silver tiles that cover the floor - was built in 1892. Day 3: Phnom Penh - Battambang (B/L/D) Route in the direction of Battambang about 291Km through villages and countryside, several visits are planned along the way: first, the village of goldsmiths along the Tonle Sap, manufacturing souvenir center, then continue to Phnom Oudong, one of the ancient capitals o f Cambodia after Angkor. The hill is topped by deformed stupas of former kings and a new magnificent stupa used to house the centre of the Buddha. From the top, you admire the scenic landscapes of villages, pagodas, plains, lakes. After the descent, then go on the road to the provincial town of Kompong Chhnang with its river port, floating houses, visiting the village that people make pots, vases and other ceramic items. Lu nch at the local restaurant. Continue to Pursat, beautiful city along the banks of the river and visit workshops sculptures on marble objects of art, Buddhas, well known in the country. After spending over 100 km through rice fields whose color changes according to season and villages, you arrive at the city of Battambang at the end of the day. Installation at the hotel. Day 4: Battambang – Siem Reap (B/L/D) Transfer to the pier, then in a traditional private boat, you are doing a first superb cruise on the river Sangkè approximately 6 hours. The river is bordered houses on stilts, bamboo and other plants, you will reach the floating village of fishermen Bak Prea, then the pagoda Chheu Khamu (black wooden pagoda). Picnic lunch on board. You then arrive at Prek Toal, the mouth of the river with Lake Tonle Sap. Here you can explore floating schools, pagodas and still floating village where you are taught the traditional techniques of fishing, breeding, rearing crocodiles. Continuation of the cruise across the lake about 2 hours, you arrive at the village of Chong Khneas landing in the late afternoon. Transfer to your hotel. Dinner at local restaurant. Day 5: Siem Reap (B/L/D) In the morning, early visits to temples in the small circuit as Thommanun with some very nice walled-doors and stylized devata, Chau Say Tevoda, Takeo one of the first to be build out of sandstone, Ta Prohm was a monastery built by Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother, It has been largely overgrown by the jungle and as you climb through the dilapidated stone structures you see many giant baniyan growing out of the top of the temple itself, Banteay kdei, this temple was constructed by Jayavarman VII during the 12th and 13th Centuries ( Citadel of the Cells) used to be a religious monastery, Prasat Kravan with a unique bas-reliefs of bricks and Sras Srang used for ceremonies and royal baths.
In the afternoon continues to visit Pre Rup temple – this temple was built in the 10th Century by Rajendravarman. Its proportions are perfect, a truly beautiful piece of work, Eastern Mebon used to be in the middle of the waters of the large Oriental Baray that is presently filled with rice-fields, Neak Poan was supposed to be a symbol of the Universe, and Preah Khan built in 1191 according to the tradition on a spot where the king fought a crucial battle against the Cham. Day 6: Siem Reap, the city of Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat (B/L/D) The whole day is devoted to visiting the temples of Angkor in tuk tuk. In the morning, discovered the beautiful temple of Angkor Wat, World Heritage with its soaring towers and its extraordinary bas-reliefs. It is a monument the most extra ordinary ever conceived by the human spirit, built in 12th century (1112-1152) in honor of Vishnu. Lunch at the restaurant.
Afternoon, visit Angkor Thom (Big City) beginning with the portal, South famous Bayon, 12 & 13th century, dedicated to Buddhism, composed of 54 gigantic towers of 216 faces of Avalokitesvara, Baphuon (11th S .) Dedicated to Brahmanism, pyramid temple representing M ount Meru, the terraces of Elephants, 350m long, hosted the royal pomp of hearings and public ceremonies; terrace of the Leper King has several admirable sculpted figures of Apsaras ...; Phimean Akas (celestial palace), three-tier pyramid representing Mount Meru. Dinner at a local restaurant accompanied by a performance of folk dances and traditional Cambodian. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 7: Siem Reap – Departure (B/L) In the morning visit the "Les Artisans d'Angkor – Chantiers Ecole" the Finest Authentic Khmer Arts and Crafts. Transfer to International Siem Reap Airport for flight departure. |
