Bangkok: The City of Angels

Our journey begins in Bangkok, a city that seamlessly blends ancient traditions with modern dynamism. Explore the magnificent Grand Palace, the Wat Pho with its reclining Buddha, and the bustling Chinatown.

Ayutthaya: The Ancient Capital

Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was once the capital of the Siamese Kingdom. Discover the ruins of ancient temples and palaces, and immerse yourself in the rich history of this once-great city.

Sukhothai and Lampang: The Cradle of Thai Civilization

Sukhothai, the first capital of Siam, is famous for its well-preserved ruins and beautiful temples. Lampang, a charming city, offers a glimpse into traditional Thai life. Visit the local markets and temples, or take a leisurely train ride through the countryside.

Phitsanulok, a charming city in northern Thailand, is often overlooked by tourists but offers a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty.

Warmly welcome at Bangkok International Airport, meet & greet service by our guide and transfer from the airport to hotel by private air-conditioned vehicle with English speaking guide. Check in at the hotel (Standard check in time at 14:00). Rest of the day is free to discover the “City of Angels” at your own pace.

Overnight in Bangkok.

After breakfast, we visit the Grand Royal Palace dedicated at the ceremony of the Thai royal family. It is the most sacred, respected and majestic place in Bangkok. The Grand Palace, or the Royal Palace, is a complex comprising of many historical monuments built for centuries. For the most, they are temples and official buildings stillused today.

In the same compound is the magnificent Wat Phra Kaew which is known for the Emerald Bouddha Statue.

We continue to visit Wat Pho, a giant house of the Buddha layer. The Wat Pho is one of the largest and oldest Buddhist temples in Bangkok. It is located on the eastern bank of the Chao Phraya River, south of the Grand Palace. The symbol of the temple is the statue reputed "Reclining Buddha". This statue represents Buddha on his deathbed. It is 45 meters long and 15 meters high. His feet are inlaid with mother-of-pearl.

Sightseeing will continue at Wat Traimit, the Temple of the Golden Buddha - the temple is famous for its 900-year-old five-and-a-half-ton solid gold image.

Lunch on your own at local restaurant.

Return to hotel for free time.

Having a breakfast and we will transfer to pay a visit in some sites of Ayutthaya Historical Park, situated in the old city of Ayutthaya. The city was constructed by Ramathibodi I in 1350 and was the capital of Thailand until it was destroyed by Burmese – Myanmar army in 1767. Being a ruin with many temples which characterize this handicraft type of architecture built with red bricks, the park was recognized as World’s Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Along the ride, explore the temple highlights of the city from Wat Yai Chaimongkol, Wat Mahathat (with a Buddha face emerging from a tree), and strolling through a local market en route to Wat Phra Srisanphet.

Head to Phitsanulok. Lunch at local restaurant (on your own) on route.

Through beautiful country road, you will arrive in Phitsanulok where you will visit the Buddha Casting Foundry and the riverside temple of Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, home to one of the most sacred images of Buddha in all of Thailand.

After breakfast, transfer to Sukhothai where we will take the bike to visit the Sukhothai historical park, the park contains nearly 200 ruined chedis in remarkable condition. First, we visit the image of Ajana Buddha, the legend of the Buddha spoken at Wat Srichum.

Then we take the bike to Wat Prapailuang, the community center before starting the Sukhothai kingdom in the past.

We continue the route to Lampang.

Lunch at local restaurant (on your own) on route.

Arrive in Lampang, we visit the Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, one of the best examples of Lanna style architecture in Thailand. Its viharns open on all sides are typical of the Lanna style. While some temples have been restored using modern materials and modern building techniques, Wat Phra That Lampang Luang has been preserved in its original state. The temple was built in the 13th century. Its name translates to "the temple of the Great Relic of the Lampang Buddha". The architecture is a mix of Lanna and Thai Lü styles.

Overnight stay in Chiang Rai.

Morning after breakfast, we will visit the local market to discover the local products. After that we visit the world famous Wat Phra Kaew where the Emerald Buddha image was once enshrined. Move on to Wat Phra Singha where one of Thailand’s most beautiful Buddha images is now enshrined. Then short drive from Chiang Rai City to Black House. Baan Dam (Black House) is the unique creation of national artist, Thawan Duchanee. Part art studio, part museum, part home, Baan Dam is an eclectic mix of traditional northern Thai buildings interspersed with some outlandish modern designs. Lunch on your own and afternoon we will take on our boat cruise on Mae Kok river from Chiang Rai to Karen village, visit to the Karen Long-neck Village, where you’ll experience the unique customs of the Karen people, watch elephants or feed them. After that you will take 1 hour elephant trekking. Transfer back to Chiang Rai.

Overnight stay in Chiang Rai.

After breakfast, have a ride to visit Chiang Saen the ancient city which is located on the Khong River Bank. After that, visit to Opium museum where show about the opium’s history in the past in Thailand. Have lunch at the local restaurant at the Golden triangle. Taking a boat trip along Mekong Kong River to see Thailand, Burma & Laos meet at the Golden Triangle. Afternoon we transfer directly to Chiang Mai.  Check in hotel and overnight in Chiang Mai.

The morning will be mainly devoted to the walking tour of the old town with a stop at the old wall, the moat and a door of the old town. You will see the most beautiful temples of Chiang Mai: Wat Phra Singh temple, Wat Phan Tao temple, Wat Chedi Luang temple. Then you will stroll along small streets lined with traditional houses, where you will take rickshaw tour. After that, you will take a walking through the central market of Warorot before visit the Doi Suthep hill. To brighten up your evening, browse the Night Market for yourself.

You have free time on your leisure (check out time at 12:00).

In the afternoon, transfer to the station for night train to Bangkok (A/C sleepers in 2nd class, train no.10  18h00-06h50).

Overnight onboard (without guide).

Arrive in Bangkok in the morning, pick up and transfer by private vehicle to Ban Phe pier, then take a join-in ferry to Koh Samet island (11h30-12h10). Upon arrival at Koh Samet, pick-up and transfer to the hotel for check-in.
