Tour Overview:

For the true adventurer seeking the soul of Southeast Asia, this epic journey spans four nations, three ancient capitals, two UNESCO wonders, and one unforgettable experience after another. From the bustling streets of Bangkok to the emerald waters of Halong Bay, this meticulously crafted itinerary weaves together the region's most iconic landmarks, sacred sites, and living cultures—offering a front-row seat to centuries of history, faith, and resilience.

Your odyssey begins in Bangkok, Thailand's electric capital, where glittering temples like Wat Arun and Wat Phra Kaew stand alongside modern skyscrapers and floating markets. A short journey north brings you to Ayutthaya, the ghostly former capital of Siam, where crumbling prangs and Buddha-entwined banyan trees whisper tales of glory and sack.

Crossing into Myanmar, you'll arrive in Mandalay, the last royal seat of the Burmese kingdom. Explore the majestic Mandalay Palace, climb the sacred Mandalay Hill for panoramic sunset views, and absorb the rhythmic chants of thousands of monks. From here, travel south to Bagan—a temple-studded plain that defies imagination. Over 2,000 pagodas and stupas rise from the earth, their brick silhouettes glowing amber at dawn, best explored by e-bike, horse cart, or drifting hot-air balloon.

Next, escape to the tranquil highlands of Inle Lake, where floating gardens bloom on rafts of hyacinth, leg-rowing fishermen balance gracefully on wooden canoes, and stilted villages preserve centuries-old traditions of silk weaving and cheroot-making. A return to Yangon offers a final taste of Myanmar's spiritual grandeur at the shimmering Shwedagon Pagoda before you cross into Cambodia.

In Phnom Penh, Cambodia's resilient capital, history unfolds through the glittering Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, and the haunting Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum—a solemn but essential reminder of the nation's past. From here, journey to Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor. Witness the sunrise over Angkor Wat, the world's largest religious monument, and explore the stone faces of Bayon, the jungle-draped ruins of Ta Prohm, and the ancient city of Angkor Thom—a testament to Khmer architectural genius.

Your adventure continues into Vietnam, beginning in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), where colonial-era landmarks like the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Post Office stand alongside the sobering Cu Chi Tunnels. The vibrant energy of the city, with its motorbike-filled streets and aromatic street food, is a world away from the tranquility of the Mekong Delta, which you'll explore with its coconut candy workshops and floating markets.

Flying north, you'll discover Hanoi, Vietnam's thousand-year-old capital. Here, history breathes through the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the delicate One Pillar Pagoda, and the labyrinthine streets of the Old Quarter. Sip egg coffee, savor a bowl of pho, and let the city's poetic charm envelop you. Finally, the grand finale awaits in Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where thousands of limestone karsts rise dramatically from jade-green waters. Cruise among hidden grottoes, kayak past floating villages, and watch the sunset paint the sky in shades of gold and crimson—a perfect, luminous end to a journey that spans the heart of Asia.

From the golden temples of Myanmar to the stone sentinels of Angkor, from the floating markets of Thailand to the dragon-backed peaks of Vietnam, this 20-day extravaganza is not merely a tour—it is a pilgrimage through the soul of Southeast Asia.

Itinerary in details:

Warmly welcome at Bangkok International Airport, meet & greet service by our guide and transfer from the airport to hotel by private air-conditioned vehicle with English speaking guide. Check in at the hotel. Rest of the day is free to discover the “City of Angels” at your own pace.

Overnight in Bangkok.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will embark on a sightseeing tour of Bangkok's most famous temples. Your first stop will be at Royal Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha, two of the most famous tourist attractions in Bangkok. The Grand Palace is adjacent to Wat Phra Kaew, and together they form a common compound. The Grand Palace features European-inspired designs, except for the roofs, which maintain a distinctly Thai style.

Next, you will visit Wat Po, which is the oldest and largest temple in Bangkok. This temple is famous for its Reclining Buddha (Phra Buddhasaiyas), the largest single Buddha image in Thailand, and is also the birthplace of traditional Thai massage. After this visit, you will have free time for lunch on your own.

You will then visit Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of the Dawn. This iconic landmark is one of the most well-known temples in Bangkok and offers a stunning view of the city.

Enjoy a walk through the flower market before the last visit at the Golden Mountain.

After this visit, you will return to your hotel for some free time to relax and explore the city at your leisure. Overnight in Bangkok.

Important Notes:

  • The Grand Palace may occasionally close without prior notice due to royal ceremonies or official state visits.
  • Modest attire is required for visits to the Grand Palace and temples. Shoulders and knees must be covered, and shoes must be removed before entering temple buildings.
  • The itinerary may be adjusted depending on local conditions.

Indulge yourself with tasty breakfast at the hotel then have an exciting excursion to our next major destination of the tour – Ayutthaya Historical Park in the ancient capital of Ayutthaya. Once the heart of Ayutthaya Empire that witnessed a glorious summit of Thai history, the city is left with countless ancient temples featuring hand-constructed architecture. Ayutthaya Historical Park was recognized as World’s Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The first site in the complex we pay a visit today is Wat Phu Khao Thong – a huge religious work standing in the middle of green paddy fields featuring a shimmering chedi plated with gold on top of the pagoda.

Proceed to Wat Phra Si Sanphet as the most sacred temple of Ayutthaya and its three high towers rising parallel in Ceylonese style. Next up, visit Vihara Phra Mongkhon Bophit, the pagoda where it stands the copper statue of Buddha posturing the defeat of Mara. This work also ranks as one of the biggest statues of Buddha in the country.

Another gilded site of Buddhist pilgrims in Ayutthaya is Wat Lokaya Sutha in which it portrays a giant Buddha reclining peacefully. The statue is the most sacred relic among many other valuable treasures in Wat Lokaya Sutha.

Return to Bangkok. Stop en route at the Royal Summer Palace located in Bang Pa-in district which is a favourite retreat destination of the royal family. This Summer Palace is a complex of architecture combinations of European, Khmer, Chinese and traditional Thai styles.

The rest of the day is on your own. Feel free to explore lesser-known parts of Bangkok or look for some lovely souvenirs to bring home.

Overnight stay in Bangkok.

After breakfast at the hotel, you are free at your own leisure until being escorted to the airport for your flight to Mandalay, Myanmar.

Mingalabar, welcome to the wonderful country of Myanmar! Your discovery starts with Mandalay – the second largest city in the country.

This former capital is famous for its well-preserved historical value, like a shimmering jewel on the banks of the Irrawaddy River. Although the city is thriving as a boisterous dynamic city of South East Asian, Mandalay remains a major cultural centre of Myanmar. Prepare for an amazing exploration of Mandalay’s history, arts, and traditions.

As soon as you arrive, be moved to the hotel in Mandalay for check-in. The transfer should take about 1 hour.

Proceed to our first destination of the city tour, Amarapura. In Burmese, the former capital of Amarapura bears the meaning of “City of Immortality”. Despite its short period of history, the city absolutely marked one of the most glorious eras of Myanmar’s past.

After visiting a local silk weaving workshop and first hand observing the artisans’ techniques, take a short walk to Taungthaman Lake where it stands the world’s longest teakwood bridge – U Bein. This wooden landmark was built in the 18th century (the days of Amarapura’s majesty) and possesses a length of 1.2 kilometres across the lake. Feast your eyes on the sunset from the bridge as the lake reflects the sun rays perfectly.

Overnight in Mandalay.

After breakfast at the hotel, start Mandalay sightseeing which includes most of the city’s outstanding historical and cultural sites such as:

  • MAHAMUNI PAGODA, famous for its life like Buddha image
  • MARBLE SCULPTURE
  • GOLD LEAF MAKING CENTRE
  • KU-THO-DAW PAGODA, known as the world’s biggest book.
  • SHWE-NANDAW MONASTERY (GOLDEN MONASTERY), famous for its wood carving
  • KYAUK-TAW-GYI PAGODA, a huge image of Buddha carved out of a single marble boulder.
  • In the evening, enjoy breath-taking and panoramic view of almost the whole city from Mandalay Hill

Overnight in Mandalay.

Wake up early in the morning but no need to rush since you may take a leisurely walk along the bank of the mighty Irrawaddy River. Then it should be time to visit a local market where they sell exotic fresh fruits and vegetables of Myanmar. You might see a different side of locals’ life that not every tourist has the chance to witness.

You are free until being transferred to Paleik and its famous snake temple on a short 45-minute drive (about 30 kilometres). May Buddha bless us we might even see a snake washing which is believed to bring good luck and fortune. Also don’t miss the opportunity to set foot in the majestic ancient temples of Ava dynasty that dot around Paleik.

Next up, take the road again and head to Bagan on a scenic road. This one should not be as short as the previous since the distance now is more than 300 km and might take up to 5 hours driving. Have some rest on the coach or enjoy the stunning landscape of pristine Myanmar on the way.

Upon your Bagan arrival in late afternoon, we shall process your check-in at the hotel and let you take some rest.

Overnight in Bagan.

In the morning, we shall pay a visit to Nyaung Oo Market to blend in the countryside life of the Bagan locals. You may find some lovely souvenirs for your beloved ones here. Then set your feet on the ground of Shwezigon Pagoda, built under the reign of King Anawrahta in the 11th century.

Discover some other small religious sites and villages of Bagan and dive in the peaceful atmosphere of this area before heading for other highlights of today’s trip. There are lesser-known villages and religious sites around Bagan for you to discover. We can arrange a short walk through the areas to visit these other landmarks upon your demands.

Get on horse-carts to head to the highest temple in Bagan – Thatbyinnyu built in the 11th century. The next stop is the massive Temple of Dhammayangyi with renowned brickwork. Last but not least, the enthralling Sulamani Temple.

Wrap up your trip to Bagan with a glorious sunset view of Bagan when the whole area glows under the rays of the setting suns. What an experience.

Return to the hotel afterward.

Overnight in Bagan.

Be transferred to Nyaung U Airport for a short flight to Heho located in the center of Shan State. From Heho airport, be escorted to Nyaung Shwe village. Stop en route to explore the making of traditional Shan paper and special handmade umbrellas of the locals. Before reaching the incredible Inle lake, pay a short visit to the Shweyanpyay monastery made out of teakwood to immerse yourself with its splendid woodworks by the monks.

Inle Lake is the second largest lake in Myanmar embellished with floating gardens and splendid mountainous scenery. The beauty of the lake is not complete without the features of living humans as you can find wooden fishing boats and unique local stilted houses around the lake. Firstly, pay a visit to the traditional morning market on the lake which is closed on every full-moon and dark-moon days. The market is a major trading site of the lake whose location changes every five days.

On the way, our dearest tourists can enjoy the calm images of fishermen rowing their boats with just one leg and original stilted houses of the local people of Intha. The fascinating floating flower beds of the lake are made of a totally natural mixture of Hyacinth plants, soil and bamboo poles.

The next stop of the day is the Monastery of Nga Hpe Chaung which is home to numerous Shan Buddha Images. The monastery was once famous for the “jumping cats”. Then we head for Phaung Daw Oo Stupa to see five sacred statues of Buddha coated with gold leaves.

If time permits, we shall stop en route at some villages to observe the way local people handmake exotic products like lotus silk, cigar, blacksmiths, silversmiths and wooden boats (only available in certain times of the year).

Then return to the hotel after one fatiguing but exciting day of discovery.

Overnight on Inle.

Explore Indein – an ancient complex of temples. It is one of the most famous sites near Inle Lake that holds great cultural and religious value.

You will be transferred to the airport in the afternoon for flight to Yangon. Arrive at Yangon, check in and relax.

Meals on your own account.

Stay overnight in Yangon.

Firstly, we visit Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda where is home to an enormous reclining Buddha statue.

After that, head to Shwedagon Pagoda. It is a wonderful golden pagoda located on the top of Singuttara Hill. People said that the pagoda was built 2500 years ago and it kept the hair relics of the Buddha. Nowadays, the location is the most magnificent religious place in the world and the pride of Myanmar.

Ultimately, savor the day by visiting Scott Market aka Bogyoke Market, which is the best place to go shopping in Yangon offering a wide range of products from foods, fabrics, lacquer wares to jewelleries. This is definitely a great chance to select some lovely gifts for your friends and family back home.

Head to Yangon Airport for your evening flight to Phnom Penh. When you arrive, your local guide will be waiting and ready to take you to the hotel for check in.

Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Morning: Royal Palace & Silver Pagoda & National Museum

Your day begins at the Royal Palace, the official residence of King Norodom Sihamoni. Built in 1866, the palace complex is a stunning example of Khmer architecture, with golden spires and ornate roofs. Your guide will lead you through the Throne Hall, used for royal ceremonies, and the Moonlight Pavilion, a graceful open-air building where classical dance performances are held.

The highlight is the Silver Pagoda (Wat Preah Keo), so named for its floor covered with over 5,000 silver tiles weighing one kilogram each. Inside, you will see the Emerald Buddha of Cambodia (a Baccarat crystal Buddha) and a life-sized gold Buddha weighing 90 kilograms, adorned with 2,086 diamonds.

National Museum: Immerse yourself in Cambodian history and art at the National Museum. Explore fascinating exhibits showcasing artifacts from the Angkor era and other periods, providing insights into the rich cultural heritage of Cambodia.

Next, we head to visit Wat Phnom: Ascend the scenic Phnom Penh Hill, where Wat Phnom, a Buddhist temple with a long history, sits atop. Enjoy panoramic views of the city and experience the tranquillity of the temple grounds.

Lunch: A Cambodian lunch at a local restaurant, where your guide can recommend regional specialties.

Afternoon: Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21)

This former high school was converted into a prison and torture center by the Khmer Rouge regime (1975–1979). Over 17,000 prisoners passed through S-21; only seven survived. Your guide will lead you through the classrooms-turned-cells, the photographs of victims lining the walls, and the iron bed frames still in place. It is a harrowing but essential stop for understanding modern Cambodian history. The Khmer Rouge's radical communist revolution led to the deaths of nearly two million Cambodians through execution, forced labor, and starvation.

The Killing Fields of Choeung Ek

Located 15 kilometers outside Phnom Penh, Choeung Ek is one of hundreds of "killing fields" where the Khmer Rouge executed and buried victims. The centerpiece is the Memorial Stupa, a glass-walled monument filled with over 8,000 human skulls sorted by age and gender. A path leads you past mass graves, and the audio tour (by former S-21 survivor Vann Nath) plays as you walk. The site is peaceful today, but the weight of history is palpable.

Evening: Return to your hotel to freshen up. Consider a quiet dinner to process the day's emotions, or enjoy a sunset cruise on the Mekong River.

Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Today we travel by road from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. On route you will have a chance to stop on the way to take photo and witness the everyday lives of Cambodians as you pass through interesting provincial towns, bucolic villages, and delightful scenery. This is no ‘freeway dash’ as you will often slow down to let cows and water buffalo wander across the road, pass horse drawn carriages, and school kids walking and cycling to/from school.

We may choose to stop at Skoun, also known as ‘Spider vile’ due to the deep-fried tarantula that is the local delicacy, are you adventurous enough to try one?

Arrive in Kampong Thom, we visit Sambor Prei Kuk, which is dotted with hundred Pre-Angkor styled temples. The site, part of the Chenla Kingdom, includes an area of nearly 1000 acres enclosed by double walls, and hundreds of temples and towers; its construction predates Angkor Wat by several centuries. The road conditions are very poor, but the spectacular scenery, with a mixture of temples and forest makes the hardship all worthwhile.

On route you may wish to stop off in Kampong Kdei, to look at Spean Pratos – an ancient Angkorian bridge.
Upon arrival in Siem Reap, you will check-in to your hotel after which you are free at leisure for the rest of the evening.

Overnight in Siem Reap.

We start very early in the morning so we can capture the iconic picture of the pre-dawn facing Angkor Wat temple. Sunrise at Angkor Wat can be a busy venue especially during the months of December, January, February and March.

After sunrise, we will explore the vast and rich of Angkor Wat temple, taking pictures at different angles, playing with light and shadows and capturing the most beautiful devatas carved in sandstone.

Next destination will be the Ta Prohm "Tomb Raider" fame. Ta Prohm has been abandoned to the elements, a reminder that while empires rise and fall, the riotous power of nature marches on, oblivious to the dramas of human history. Left as it was ‘discovered’ by French explorer Henri Mouhout in 1860, the tentacle-like tree roots here are slowly strangling the surviving stones, man first conquering nature to create, nature later conquering man to destroy.

Next, at the Golden Hour, will be the impressive Bayon temple with its 54 towers and 216 faces overlooking the defunct city of Angkor Thom. The final stop will be at one of gate of Angkor Thom to capture sunset over the moat.

Overnight in Siem Reap.

We depart to Tonle Sap Lake. We will visit the floating village of Kampong Phluk, which means "Port of Tusks", located 20 km east of Siem Reap. It is a village built on stilts on the Tonlé Sap. The community largely depends on fishing for a living, spending Cambodia's rainy season (June-October) fishing. During the dry season (November-April), when the waters of the lake go down, many of them work in agriculture to supplement their income. The excursion will take you to explore the floating village and allow you to see how people live and trade.

You will go to local pagoda, where you should change to clothes you can get wet in as here you will experience the ceremony “SrouchTeok”, which roughly translates into “Water blessing”. A monk will chant in ancient Pali as he splashes water over you, washing away your sins and bad luck so you can start fresh and by being a good person can increase your good luck.

Transfer to Siem Reap airport for flight to Saigon. Upon arrival at Saigon International Airport. In Saigon, first obtain your Vietnam visa on arrival. Clear Immigration and Customs and proceed into the arrival area. You will be met by our guide and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.

Overnight in Saigon.

8.00 am: Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and then start drive to Cu Chi which located 60km from Saigon city, Cu Chi is now considered a heroic district for its role in the anti-American war in Vietnam. It is legendary for the original tunnels system of over 220km and is a popular spot for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors. The peacefully rural rice paddy scenery contains ducks and water buffalos swimming in the rivers alongside the road. Visitors will find it hard to imagine the destruction, damage, and defoliation all over the area, caused by bombing and mines When Cu Chi was” A Free Target Zone “. The remnants visitors will see show Cu Chi still has her evidence to prove the fierce battleground that took place there and visitors will see the remnants.

We pass the now-demolished wartime American Embassy before we visit the Reunification Palace which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until end of April 1975, and some French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Sai Gon Post Office. After seeing the Jade Emperor Pagoda and the War Remnant Museum, we continue our trip on to the bustling Ben Thanh Market where anything and everything is for sale.

Overnight in Saigon.

The whole day is for the visiting to the boisterous Mekong Delta. A trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Ben Tre will take us about 2.5 – 3 hours. For a cruise on a branch of the Mekong River, Chet Say river, get on the boat at Phong Nam wharf. During the trip, you will learn about local life and the people’s traditional handicrafts such as coconut activated charcoal making, coconut processing for production, as well as mat weaving.

A nearby peaceful village can be explored as you choose to get in on “xe loi" (a special motorized tricycle) or hiring a bike to move around the village through the luxuriant trees and magnificent paddy fields. We will have lunch at a local house where tasty Vietnamese cuisine is served.

Transfer Saigon airport for our flight to the Hanoi. Upon arrival at airport, we meet our driver and transfer to hotel for check in.

Overnight in Hanoi.

Hanoi is a green city with its stylish French villas; it still exudes that old French charm and style. Its tree-lined boulevards, romantic lakes and French architecture allow us to step back in time to a quieter, more relaxed Vietnam. We visit the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and Ho’s simple, yet impressive house on stilts, set in beautiful gardens. Then we view the One Pillar Pagoda and the ancient Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university. In the afternoon we visit the Ethnological Museum, one of the most interesting in Hanoi and then take an hour cyclo tour to discover the heart of Hanoi – the bustling Old Quarter – where the narrow streets buzz and bustle with the life of city. It is a shopper’s delight, with beautiful silks, linen, and Vietnamese artifacts. To finish off the day, we attend the performance of the famous Vietnamese water puppetry.

Overnight in Hanoi.

This morning, we leave Hanoi by road for Ha Long Bay by shuttle bus from the cruise, enjoying the timeless scenery of rice fields, water buffalo and daily life of the countryside. On arrival in Ha Long, we board a beautifully appointed wooden junk. A seafood lunch will be served as we cruise among the hundreds of islets in the Bay. Our cruise takes us to Sung Sot cave to witness a splendid sunset.

Overnight on boat.

Early morning coffee and tea will be served on the sundeck followed by a Tai Chi class. We continue exploring magnificent Ha Long Bay. Change to a small motor or rowing boat to see the floating village. When we return to the junk, a sumptuous meal, combining Vietnamese and Western cuisine will be served. On leaving the cruise, we depart back to Hanoi by shuttle bus from the cruise.

Overnight at Hotel in Hanoi.
