We drive to Angkor Thom that was the masterpiece of King Jayavarman VII. Following the occupation of Angkor by the Chams from 1177 to 1181, the new king decided to build an impregnable fortress at the heart of his empire. We begin to visit Bayon Temple. At the exact center of Angkor Thom, this is an eccentric expression of the creative genius and inflated ego of Cambodia’s most celebrated king. From there, we walk to Baphuon Temple, once of the most beautiful temples at Angkor, dating from the reign of Uditayavarman 1 in the 11th century. Next visit Terrace of the Leper King. Along the Terrace of Elephants, originally used as a viewing gallery for the king to preside over parades, performances and traditional sports.

Continue to Ta Prohm `Tomb Raider` fame. Ta Prohm has been abandoned to the elements, a reminder that while empires rise and fall, the riotous power of nature marches on, oblivious to the dramas of human history. Journey out to the Mother of all temples, Angkor Wat. Believed to be the world's largest religious building, this temple is the perfect fusion of symbolism and symmetry and a source of pride and strength to all Khmers.

Overnight in Siem Reap.

Visit a floating village on the Tonle Sap lake where we can experience a unique lifestyle. The lake is the largest fresh water in Southeast Asia. The size of the water body changes dramatically during the year. It is very rich in fish, snakes, crocodiles, turtles, turtles and otters. About 700 fishing families live on the lake. We visit a floating restaurant where we can have lunch based on daily fishing. So back to Siem Reap and the rest of the day is free, so you can buy souvenirs.

Dinner with Apsara Dance show at local restaurant. Overnight in Siem Reap.

We leave Siem Reap and head north to the mountainous border area and to the last Khmer Rouge outpost near Anlong Veng, where we visit the home of the former military Ta Mok. Anlong Veng was the last highland in the Khmer Rouge, which surrendered to the government forces in the late 1990s. We then head east to explore an impressive hill temple that protects the border between Cambodia and Thailand. The Preah Vihear Temple, registered as a World Heritage List in 2008, is on a peak overlooking Cambodia and is the subject of the latest battles with Thailand. We climb the top of the temple of Preah Vihea along the winding road, which is very steep in some places, and finally emerges at the other enclosure of this temple in the king of the mountains. We explore the temple on foot and continue to the last level, clinging to a cliff in the Dangrek Mountains and high hundreds of feet above the lowland of Cambodia. The view from this mountainous temple mountain is breathtaking.

Overnight at Preah Vihear.

We leave the historical, cultural and temple-rich part of the country to get to know the larger Mekong regions. On one of the newest and most remote roads towards Preah Rumkel, we visit Sopheakmet Waterfall. this counteracted the great patterns of the French imperialists (which now mark the Lao border). Enjoy traditional lunch cooked by a local family. Then we take a boat trip to explore most beautiful part of the Mekong. It extends south along the Mekong from the border to Laos to Stung Treng. Available only by boat, it is a paradise for endangered mammals, birds and fishes with a unique, flooded forest system that is a photographer's dream.
Continue on the road to Stung Treng's capital. We check in for the night at a comfortable hotel.

Overnight Stung Treng.

We leave Stung Treng and travel on Highway 7 to Kratie. We reach Kampi, one of the many deep pools where the rare river dolphins gather to feed. We board a local boat and cruise out into the mighty Mekong for a chance encounter with these gentle mammals. Viewing is guaranteed. After enjoying an hour or more of dolphin viewing, we travel to a sleepy Mekong port and charming town of Kratie. We make our stop at mediated of Phnom Sambok, a small mountain which has two peaks, one dull and the other pointed, and has a lush forest filled with birds and some monkeys. A concrete staircase makes the mountaintop accessible. Once at the top, we are rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view of the countryside, especially the Mekong River.

Take a local ferry across the Mekong River to Koh Trong. We will see farm of famous grapefruit and other seasonal fruit and vegetable as well as floating village. We will spend couple hours to cycling around the island through many rural villages, villagers especially kids are friendlier. Great smiles with greeting word “HELLO! HELLO!” they look to you like famous people or people of the day. There are opportunities to see local productions such as rice whisky and rice noodle; stop for refreshing drinks along the way; relax and refresh your body with a swim at a secret and beautiful Mekong beaches rewarded by many Mekong green Islands in season (January-May).

Overnight in Koh Trung (Kratie).

Continuing to Phnom Penh. We arrive in Kampong Cham. During dry season (Jan-May), we can visit the bamboo bridge built across the mighty Mekong River connecting mainland to Koh Pen Island. En route, there is the chance to pause at Skuon, affectionately known as 'Spiderville', where it is possible to sample the local delicacy of deep fried tarantula.

Overnight in Phnom Penh.

After breakfast, we meet our guide and hop on Cyclo, an original means of transport from Phnom Penh and a fun way to explore this vibrant city. First visit Wat Phnom is a Buddhist temple located in center of Phnom Penh City. It was built in 1373, and stands 27 meters above the ground. Next, we visit to the Royal Palace compound build in 1866 by the Predecessors of King Norodom, is the most conspicuous feature and also one of impressive colorful Khmer-style Palaces. Nearside the Royal Palace is Silver Pagoda (The Emerald Buddha temple), display plenty of Buddha Statues that were decorated and made by diamond, emerald, gold and silver, continuing visit to National Museum, the distinctive red building with a beautiful Khmer architecture was build since 1917 and contains more than 5000 art objects made of sandstone, bronze, silver, copper, wood and others. Travelers will proceed to visit Independence Monument, which was constructed in 1954 after Cambodian took their country back from French colony. We will learn about the dark side of Cambodia – Its more recent turbulent and harrowing history. Initially you visit the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum (also known as S21), ironically a former school, located in a quiet Phnom Penh suburb, this was the infamous Khmer Rouge prison / torture center. We will stop at Central Market is located in the heart of the Phnom Penh. The Khmer name of the market is Phsar Thmei, which translates to “new market”. The Central Market was built in 1937 during the French colonial period, in Art Deco style, and is painted bright ochre. We will enjoy a cruise for view sunset on the Mekong and Tonle Sap River (1 hour). Situated at the “Four Arms” where the Mekong meets the Tonle Sap River before splitting into tow branches, Phnom Penh offers the ideal location to discover the mighty Mekong.
