This morning, you will depart your 1.5-hour drive journey for Bago- the ancient capital of a mysterious empire and home to a towering Mon pagoda. Take your time to visit Thamanay Buddhist Academy and the famous Shwemawdaw Pagoda.

The Shwemawdaw in Bago is the tallest pagoda in Burma. With its height of 114 meters, it is 15 meters taller than the Shwedagon Pagoda in nearby Yangon. The impressive Shwemawdaw- built by the Mon people over a thousand years ago, is one of Burma’s most sacred sites. Continue your way to Kin Pun-where you take a public local truck for a winding ride to the top of the mountain.

A huge boulder covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff, Golden Rock is one of Myanmar's main pilgrimage sites. Enjoy a stunning sunset at the top of Kyaikhtiyo before turning back to your hotel.

After freshening up, trek down to the base camp and set off your journey to Hpa-An. Hpa An is a picturesque town about 270 kilometers east of Yangon.

The setting itself, the surrounding caves and mountains to explore, and the laid-back atmosphere are the highlights of the area. En route, make a stop to visit the lovely villages of KyaukKalat and Lakhani. Make your way to Saddam cave -a well-known temple site southeast of Hpa An in Kayin State.
